Meet Lakelei

At just 3 years old, Lakelei is already a bright light in our Saskatoon Early Learning and Child Care centre. She loves painting, crafting, dancing, and listening to music — and she brings her creativity and joy into everything she does.

Lakelei lives with Pediatric Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction and Autism, which means her care needs are complex and ongoing. For her family, finding a safe and inclusive daycare once felt impossible. That changed when Hope’s Home opened its Saskatoon location.

“When we got the call that a spot was available for Lakelei, we were overflowing with relief. We truly didn’t believe there was going to be another option for her to attend daycare with her medical needs.” – Kaitlyn, Lakelei’s mom

Since starting daycare, Lakelei has found not only care but also friendship, confidence, and independence. She even proudly shares, “I have friends at school with tubies like me.”

Her parents describe her as their little sunshine — resilient, loving, and always keeping them on their toes. Thanks to the care and dedication of the Hope’s Home team, Lakelei gets to experience childhood outside of the hospital and grow alongside her peers.
