Meet Jayceon
At just three years old, Jay is a bundle of personality wrapped up in giggles and grit, especially when there’s a beat involved. Whether it’s wheels spinning over bumpy snow or his own music-making antics, Jay’s mission is to spread smiles far and wide.
Jay’s journey includes navigating spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, microcephaly, epilepsy, visual impairment, developmental delay, and failure to thrive.
We joyfully welcomed Jayceon at the start of 2026, and in no time, he’s shown us just how inquisitive and capable he truly is.
His communication style? Short and sweet: “GO.” With the help of his uncles, aunts, and some phonics magic at circle time, his vocabulary is blossoming. He’s also diving into ASL, charming our nurses with a yes or no when it’s time to start food or fun.
When Jay started out, his left hand was on a permanent vacation, eating was an uphill battle, and standing was a quick affair. Fast forward, and he’s now playing with both hands like a pro, growing stronger every day. He can stand in his frame for a whole hour with ease! Jay is a success story, wowing us daily as he explores new textures, sounds, smells, sights, and friendships. His world is full of color and excitement, and every moment is an opportunity for discovery. Jay’s determination shines brightly, inspiring everyone around him to see the beauty in perseverance and resilience. His laughter is infectious, and his spirit is unbreakable, proving that joy knows no bounds.
Being part of Jay’s journey is nothing short of a privilege. His family and friends rally around him with love and support, each day celebrating the milestones he achieves. From the smallest triumphs to the grandest breakthroughs, Jay’s progress is a testament to the power of love, dedication, and the human spirit.
As he continues to grow, so too does his enthusiasm for life. Whether he’s experimenting with new forms of expression through art or music, or engaging in playful babbling with his peers, Jay is the heart of every room he enters. With each passing day, he teaches us all to cherish the little things, embrace challenges with courage, and, above all, to keep moving forward with hope and joy.
The staff at hopes home provides exceptional care my son Jayceon and his complex medical needs. All the staff there show incredible patience, compassion and skill ensuring that he is safe, comfortable and included in all daily activities. It means the most to me that they take the time to understand Jayceon and his ways of communicating and helping him grow and develop new skills. Their dedication gives me peace of mind knowing he is not only receiving the specialized care that he requires, but that he is also in a nurturing environment where he is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach his full potential. As his mother, knowing he is cared for by the staff at hopes home who truly care, understand and support his needs allows me to be at ease knowing he is being cared for in the best way possible. -From his mom Alicia McKay
