Meet Helen

Helen, a bright and inspiring five-year-old, has faced significant challenges due to her medical condition. This year has been a turning point for her and her family; thanks to the support they’ve received from Hope’s Home.

Helen’s journey has included multiple surgeries and extensive therapy, leaving her family in search of a community that understands their challenges. Since joining Hope’s Home, they have found the resources and connections they desperately needed. For the first time, they feel they are part of something bigger—a family that understands.

This past year, they celebrated a personal victory: Helen’s ability to communicate her thoughts and feelings using an iPad. This breakthrough has deepened her relationship with her parents, allowing them to connect in ways they never thought possible.

“Hope’s Home allows Helen to just be a kid, and it allows us to just be parents. We no longer have to switch from being Mom and Dad to physiotherapist, speech-language pathologist, and occupational therapist. She gets her physio, stretches, and strengthening every single day, Monday to Friday. Now, when we pick her up, we can just cuddle, laugh, read books, and have supper together—just be her parents. That’s something we didn’t realize we’d gain from Hope’s Home, but it’s been life-changing.” – Laura Helen’s mom
