Meet Helen

Helen is a bright and determined little girl who is full of personality. She loves music, spending time with her family, and connecting with the people around her in her own unique way.

Helen has complex medical needs and developmental challenges that once made everyday moments feel uncertain for her family. Before coming to Hope’s Home, much of their focus was on keeping her safe and healthy. Now, they’ve been able to shift from survival to helping Helen truly enjoy life.

Since joining Hope’s Home, Helen has made incredible progress. With daily support built into play and routine, she is growing stronger, gaining mobility, and even beginning to take steps with assistance. She is also learning to communicate using her iPad, giving her the ability to express what she likes, what she needs, and even tell her family “I love you.”

One of the most meaningful moments for her family was hearing other children say, “Bye Helen, see you tomorrow.” For them, it meant everything. Helen has friends, a community, and a place where she belongs.

Her family shares:
“Hope’s Home has given Helen the best possible start. We’ve gone from worrying about survival to thinking about how she can live the best life possible. It has also allowed us to just be her parents again.”

At Hope’s Home, Helen receives the care, therapy, and support she needs every day, while still getting to just be a kid.
