Meet Avery
Avery is a bright and joyful 5-year-old living at Hope’s Home Saskatoon Supportive Living – Brookdale Home. Whether she’s visiting her family, playing with friends, getting her nails painted, exploring the Wonderhub, or dancing along during Music Mondays, Avery’s contagious smile has a way of brightening everyone’s day.
When Avery was just 6 months old, she was diagnosed with the rare genetic condition Leigh syndrome, along with infantile spasms. Despite the challenges she has faced, Avery continues to show incredible strength and resilience every day.
Before moving into Hope’s Home Supportive Living in 2024, Avery attended Hope’s Home Child Care in Warman. Today, she continues to thrive in an environment where she is surrounded by compassionate caregivers who celebrate her achievements and support her unique needs.
For Avery’s family, Hope’s Home has become so much more than a place of care.
Knowing Avery is cared for by a team that truly knows and loves her brings peace of mind to her family every day.
“I feel so relieved knowing she is in good hands. They bring Avery to all of her appointments, keep in contact with me every day, and always provide updates on how she’s doing. I also love how Hope’s Home celebrates holidays, birthdays, and special events, and includes our family in those moments.”
Avery’s dad says watching her grow has been one of life’s greatest gifts.
“Avery has the most contagious smile. You can’t help but smile when she smiles. Being Avery’s dad means the whole world to me. She has taught me so much in life. Avery is a strong, beautiful, one-of-a-kind girl, and since being with Hope’s Home she has surpassed so many expectations. I couldn’t ask for anything better than Avery. Every second with her is amazing, and I love her so much.”
At Hope’s Home, we’re honoured to be part of Avery’s journey. Every milestone she reaches, every smile she shares, and every joyful moment reminds us why inclusive, compassionate care matters. Avery continues to inspire everyone around her with her determination, her happiness, and the light she brings into every room.
