Atticus time at Hope’s Home has transformed his development and provided essential support tailored to his needs. Facing generalized delayed development and nonspecific epilepsy the team at Hope’s Home has been a beacon of hope for Atticus and his family. They have supported him in developing mobility, speech, socialization, and coping with his epilepsy. But their impact goes beyond the developmental milestones; during difficult times, such as the passing of his grandmother, they’ve offered compassionate support to the whole family. Atticus’ worker, Abiola, has become a steady rock for them—always there with updates, encouragement, and a listening ear.
To Atticus’s family Hope’s Home has been a true sanctuary. The staff members genuinely care, creating a warm and safe environment where each child feels included and valued. Atticus has made incredible strides in communication, feeding himself, and interacting with others. Each achievement is cherished, reflecting the determination and kindness inherent in his spirit.
Today, Atticus is more social than ever, forming 3-4 word sentences and actively engaging with peers. His little personality shines through as he navigates his world with curiosity and joy. He delights in his oral fidgets, wears a comforting compression vest, and uses earmuffs that help him handle loud environments with ease. His family sees him not only as their son but as a teacher of patience, acceptance, and resilience. .
