GOVERNMENT SUPPORTS EXPANSION OF HOPE’S HOME FOR CHILDREN WITH COMPLEX MEDICAL NEEDS
Saskatoon, SK — The Government of Saskatchewan, in partnership with Hope’s Home, is expanding services for children and youth in care with complex medical needs through the opening of a new Supportive Living Home in Saskatoon.
“Every child deserves the chance to live in a safe, caring, and supportive environment,” said Social Services Minister Terry Jenson. “This new home reflects our commitment to building stronger communities with services that support children and families in need.”
Located in Saskatoon the new four-space Supportive Living Home provides 24/7 care for children in care up to the age of 18 who are medically complex and may require end-of-life care. The new Supportive Living Home is close to specialized medical services available at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
Hope’s Home is a valued partner of the Government of Saskatchewan and has provided supportive living services across the province since 2013. Hope’s Home operates four Supportive Living Homes in communities across the province, including Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert.
“I am proud to announce the opening of our third Supportive Living Home in Saskatoon for children with complex medical needs,” said CEO of Hope’s Home Lisa Wyatt. “This house will be more than a place for these children to live, it will be a home! In this home every child will find love, support, and the opportunity to thrive. Together with the Ministry of Social Services, we are creating a nurturing family-like environment where these children can experience the joys of childhood while receiving the medical care they need.”
The home officially opened on June 20, 2025, with an annual operating budget of $1.16 million, which the province will fund. The development of the new Supportive Living Home fulfills a funding commitment from the 2023-24 Provincial Budget. It demonstrates the Government of Saskatchewan’s commitment to supporting medically complex children through integrated and compassionate care.

$172,098 was raised in Saskatoon from Smile Cookie Campaign
Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie campaign was back from April 28 – May 4, 2025. In Saskatoon, 100 percent of proceeds supported Hope’s Home and Roadways Literacy Academy. Hope’s Home and Roadways Literacy Academy were each established to address the unmet needs of kids within our community. They share a passion for ensuring all kids have opportunities to reach their goals and milestones, no matter their abilities.
An incredible $172,098 was raised in Saskatoon from the Smile Cookie Campaign to support inclusive care and learning for kids ages 0 – 18. Each charity will receive an incredible $86,049, an increase of $13,000 each from last year’s Smile Cookie Campaign.
