What does "complex medical needs" mean?
Children with complex medical needs are children who have a chronic or progressive medical condition that may become unstable, resulting in a life-threatening situation. These children require care, support and monitoring by nursing professionals. Hope’s home shall consider the child to have complex needs when s/he has one or more of the following:

What types of activities are included in the programming at Hope’s Home?
At Hope’s Home we pride ourselves on offering extremely unique programming to our children. These programs are designed to strengthen children’s cognitive and social growth & development as well as promoting self-confidence and self-esteem. The activities we do with our children can include: drawing & painting with many different materials, outings to the Science Centre, Library, Museums or other local businesses, playing outside, music therapy as well as a number of other unique activities.
What support staff does Hope’s Home have?
The staff at Hope’s Home consists of Administrative Assistants, Nurses, Early Childhood Educators, Physical Development Consultants, Recreation Programmers, and Developmental Workers.
Does Hope’s Home have Physio, Occupational, and Speech therapists on staff?
No, we collaborate with each child’s community therapists to seamlessly integrate programs into their daily routines. We’re dedicated to attending appointments, offering feedback, providing training, and partnering with parents/caregivers to maintain consistency between home, early learning, and our staff. Together, we’re building a supportive environment for every child to thrive!

What does staffing look like at Hope’s Home Supportive Living Homes?
Our team includes dedicated nurses available 24/7, as well as experienced Supervisors and Managers. In addition, our Developmental Workers provide essential care—from bathing and feeding to helping with activities, exercises, and equipment use prescribed by Physical and Occupational Therapists, and so much more!
We’re proud to have Recreational Programmers on board, who assist in supervising our wonderful children and ensure they’re engaged in school, preferred activities, community involvement, and many tasks focused on their overall well-being. Our goal is to create a safe and enriching environment for every child in our care
What ages of kids are accepted into Supportive Living Homes?
Newborn to 18 years of age. At age 18 they move to an adult home with Community Living
Does Hope’s Home have nursing care 24 hours a day?
Yes, our homes have two nurses 24 hours a day
What type of support is common at Hope’s Home?
In our Supportive Living Homes we provide a variety of care some examples are:
-Tube feeds
-Monitoring seizures
-Ventilator support
-Trach care
-Medication administration
-Therapies (PT, OT, SLP)
-Support with all activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, bathing, recreation)

How do I enroll my child at Hope’s Home?
As our capacity is limited, we are currently prioritizing submissions for children who require nursing support. Please note that the Warman Before and After School Program is the only exception to this policy at this time.
Does it cost more to attend Hope’s Home?
No, Hope’s Home operates under the same license as other licensed child care facilities. We remain committed to fundraising in the community to keep fees affordable regardless of the support a child needs.
